One aspect of the profetic rarely considered is that of "SIGNETICS". Examples are Isaiah (showing his bare fanny & feet for 3 years ch20) Ezekiel (cooking over dung fire, moving, losing his wife & no tears),Hosea (marying a prostitute, naming his children significant names)God enen saying "I have made you a SIGNET..." Psa71: "I am as a wonder to many..."
Bartamaeus asked what it "meant" when he heard the crowd (Lu18:36)God speaks significantly through symbols & circumstances and the proud foten can't hear because the whole thing is beyond learning how to's & techniques. Usually these "WORDS" from God are the kind we would NOT voluteer to partticipate in. The Biblical examples I mentioned certainly reflect that.
So there is some food for thought. Bounce it around & see what comes of it.
Another observation...the word "SIGNIFICANT" viewed closely is SIGN-IF-I-CANT. Some messages (WORDS) can't be communicated any better than in a sign.
So would it seem significant to include this aspect into the mix as we attempt to define what is a Prophet?
Brightest blessings! Jim
