I'm not sure if I made my point about that clearly so I'll try to explain it a little better. Yes. I agree that they knew they were Spirit filled because they spoke in tongues. That's the 'if they speak in tongues...' part. Read Dave's post a couple replies back to see what I was responding to. What happens is that it gets turned around. 'For' is 'because' or the 'if' in the 'if they speak in tongues then...'. But if you say that they did not speak in tongues, you cannot conclude from this verse that they were not Spirit filled. In general, when reworded as 'if...then...' the logical fallacy is 'denying the antecedent'. Please read it again and tell me if I'm explaining it well enough. It's hard to put this stuff into a few words and I don't have time to write a long essay on it. If you still don't get it I can write more later in the week. Or if you just disagree, then say so and I'll let it go. P.S. Not that it matters but I think you'd yell 'fore', as in 'ahead', or 'look out ahead'.
