One major reason is it is a commandment,(Jn20:22). It is how God wants it to be! So we do it! Period!! We don't buck God!! It is not a good idea taking God to task or putting Him off, etc. We do not sprinkle infants, walk around Jericho until we are tired and then say I put in a couple laps..good enough, dip in the river two times should do it,tap the rock to the beat of INAGODADIVIDA,etc.
