I hears Joyce Meyer teach this. Not word for word, but I was at her conference here in Phoenix...She was prepping the people to recieve the gift of the holy spirit......She said she had prayed for tongues..and knew she got BHS w/o speaking in tongues...She believed she felt different..and it wasn't long after a few weeks a think..that she spoke in tongues actually... NOW, I do not agree with that taching on it, becuse of scriptures in Acts that show diffrent. There is no doubt that there is an anointing on ones life who is born of God. And to be honest..I have met many people who are more Christlike than those who do not pray in tongues...than I am. They truelly walk in the spirit, because they are born of the spirit. but Peter clearly said in Acts when the people all heard the rukus and tongue yappin that THIS WAS THAT which the prophet Joel spoke of..in the last days...etc...I will pour out my spirit on all flesh...etc...and of course we have all the other accounts n Acts that we have read.... ie the one defending Peter going to the hous3e of Cornelious..and God filled them with the HS, how did they know? Becasue these new bleviers sounded just like what happened on the day of pentacost...God was breaking barriers...
