
Posted by Traci Makes me wonder if that was part of it - taxes and wanting to prepare a temple. Maybe that is the part that made God real mad too - just like today . . . When we want to build a big church - we go to all sorts of gyrations instead of just trusting God. We resort to programs and appealing to the rich just so we can build our building. I think God gets disgusted with this type of stuff. I wonder if our churches suffer spiritually in the same way that Israel suffered physically as a result of this kind of thing. Great input, FL! You know, I just read a commentary that talked a little about this event occuring "strategically" before David found the place to build the temple (the narrative in Chronicles connects this event with the new location on the threshing floor of Arauna)
