I'm having the opposite experience as you Freedom Lover, that is; it is rare that I find a “strong” non-Pentecostal Christian. However, it pretty much goes without saying that if a person can fall away from the Lord they can also lose the indwelling of His Spirit. I still use my prayer language daily, and prayed with my husband to receive the Spirit years ago, and we both agree that our marriage is deeply impacted by continuing in our infilling. We have this scripture on our fridge, I love it; it helps keep things in perspective. Acts 4:13 (KJV) Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. ***Helen
