After reading the above comments: No you can not be "spirit filled" and not speak in tongues. Practical down to earth everyday observances. We pray for people they get the BHS, they speak in tongues. There is an actual event and feeling and spiritual experience involved here. If you are spirit filled you can speak in tongues. There is nothing in the Bible that says one must be spirit filled to do a lot of spiritual things. Win Worlly (sp) was casting out demons in people before he was spirit filled. ( see PIGS IN THE PARLOR) and there has probably been a lot of other miracles that God has done through non spirit filled people. But, but, but, that is the exceptions. Most of the gift ministries are through spirit filled tongues speaking Christians. Praying in tongues is praying direct to God in the spirit bypassing the human intellectual mind. One is really one on one with God. Spirit to spirit. A very special experience. My $1.82 worth. (inflation) Bob
