I have seen so much abuse of it toward me and others in the last few years that I hardly feel I can talk about it in an objective manner. In one way it was used as a form of gossip in the Christian club I attended. In another way it was used to make the "prophectic person" look spiritual with no regard of whether the person being prophesied to was being led into confusion or being pointed away from the Lord. I know several people that were brought to frustration and confusion and being led away from the Lord by these prophesies. Yet, this "church" will not bring any correction to those giving these words, because "we all make mistakes." I know that I have probably seen the worst of the prophetic circle and that true prophecy does exist. I just stand by this test - it must point to Jesus.

Candy,
I believe this is the true test. Does the prophecy point to Jesus Christ? The scriptures say to do this simple test. If the spirit says that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, then it is of God. If it doesn't hold this testimony, then it is antichrist. Jesus' reason he came in the flesh was to redeem man and to bring him back to the father. If the prophecy doesn't point to Christ, then I disregard it. I find myself disregarding about 90 percent of what is spoken by these people.
