Posted by kth I’ve sometimes wondered the same thing about Steve B. Once he said, “I can still make the same noise I used to make at Chapel.” I wondered if the “noise” he made meant that all the time at Chapel he never really received the Holy Spirit, just made up some sound, or if in fact he really received the Spirit, but then his theology took a nose-dive, and maybe, in fact, he still has it, even though in his latter hostility towards Chapel and Chapel doctrine he thinks of its evidence as either something evil or at least something nonmeaningful. I wonder if it could be that a spark of the Spirit is still weakly burning deep down inside.

She knew (her Baptist training) that tongues were not of God, so quit doing it.... In my mind, I felt she was filled the moment she spoke in tongues. She was still Spirit-filled, just not still speaking in tongues—due to her doctrine.
