Hi Chris,
How is it going? I'm currently on my North West coastal road trip. With the Labor Day long weekend & some furlough days from work...might as well get out of town.
I know I haven't had time to tell u about my previous road trip from Florida to Colorado...but I promise I'll whenever I get to it.
I spent 2 days visiting Portland, Oregon. Portland has a beautiful river front park along the Willamette River. It's not far from the down town district. There are 7 bridge crossings along the river. The Coucil Crest Park in Portland is the absolute perfect location to view all the surrounding mountains (ie. Mt Hood & Mt St. Helens still an active volcanic mountain). Both mountains still have snow covering their peaks. Multnomah Falls along the Columbia River was great too. Still got a good steady stream of water even though it isn't exactly the snow melt season. A nice little morning hike around the water fall was super as well.
This morning I was around Seattle, Washington. Got a lot of interesting sites to see. Pulled up to this nice & quiet spot for a beautiful photo shot back towards the Space Needle & the downtown area of Seattle. Then drove thru' the crazy downtown traffic for the famous Pike Place Market. My GOD, the fresh seafood was just...crazily cheap, massive & FRESH. Salmon is definitely the THING here! The bay scallops are just so BIG. Almost the same size as my palm! Seriously! For the afternoon, it was a nice stroll along the Lake Washington Ship Canal Hiram Chittenden Locks. The salmon ladder is one of a few in the world where saltwater (Pacific Ocean) meets freshwater (Lake Washington). Pretty cool stuff.
Anyway, I'll check in with u later. Got to plan out my day for tomorrow.
