Posted by rick schweikert on August 4, 2004, 2:05 pm Following its premiere at the 45th Street Theatre in New York in February 2004, staged readings of UN BECOMING have been performed in Birmingham AL, Seattle WA, St. Louis MO, Baltimore MD, Washington DC, Des Moines IA, Milwaukee WI, Boston MA, and Denver CO. Twelve more readings are scheduled, leading up to a full production of the play in Washington DC in March 2005. These readings, which are followed by talk-back discussions, continue to offer education and insight into the complicated realities surrounding hysterectomy and are performed in conjunction with the HERS Foundations Nationwide Protest against unwarranted, unconsented and unwanted hysterectomy. The original poster for the New York premiere is featured on the cover of the bound script, which also includes an introduction by Nora W. Coffey, HERS President, and my preface to the play. Proceeds benefit the HERS Foundation. Scripts are $20 each.
