Hello to all.... just browsing this evening, playing w/ my new laptop. ( A xmas present to myself, C0-dependants Must give themselves gifts,LOL!....but very true. ) I spent some time @ liftedhearts some yrs. back now ( 3-4 wow! time sure flies. ) I was and still am a recovering Co-dependant that finally found the courage to leave a 20+ yr. marriage to an alcoholic, sex addicted partner, toss in a smattering of battering and it brings the pot to a boil. I could share more in depth but that is not necessary, my message is to share that recovery is possible and that life can be all you've ever dreamed of. I started over at age 43 and 3 yrs. later am thriving beyond my wildest dreams in every arena of my life... mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially. I spent over 18 mos. pursuing my personal work/growth. No dating period. A time of healing and learning. I then became involved with a man from my past, however it was'nt long untill some red flags began to show up. ( Avoidant personality issues and massive procrastination tendancies, sprinkled with a hefty dose of victim mentality ) GOODBYE TO YOU! I have many wonderful friendships and am commited to my ongoing growth. I have the highest expectations for my future. I am a mere shadow of my former love addicted& co-dependant self. My ex has finally given up on all of his controlling and manipulative tactics ( he was classic abuser, charming,professional,wore the mask well. ) I live happily and peacefully in a darling cottage
in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California and am hoping to buy property soon. I cannot tell you how far I have come in the past 7 years. Beleive in yourselves and keep on top of your personal work. The results ( with ongoing spiritual work) will astound you.
