What I see often (I'm a substance abuse counselor) is that one's body can often "convince" a person that the pain is there and the drugs are necessary, whether or not the condition has improved. Addiction is a sly and devilish thing. Beware of its claws! The moodiness can be from the addiction, I call it the "uglies". I think she needs to clean up her body, do whatever physical therapy she needs to do, and THEN evaluate for depression. IUf her condition is real she'll be motivated to do whatever it takes to get some pain relief in a healthy way and get her life back. If she's addicted it'll be a real battle. Good luck. And take care of yourself FIRST. If she's not motivated to do anything but keep taking medications and stay stuck in this cycle you need ot re-think what's best for you. You can't win against addiction. Check out some info on enabling too. All the best to you.
