keep studying yourself and build on the insight you already have. You seem to know a lot about yourself. I am a big advocate of self-help. the codependent books all say the same thing - your recovery is in your hands. Lucky for you to know the cause and effects. If you know you try to please him and it backfires because he doesn't say what you want to hear, then write about it, read about it, talk about it and try to understand it. don't be afraid of knowing the hard truths. stop the behavior even if you can't stop the feelings and it will get easier.
