I have read that book because a pastor that I was counseling with recommended it to me and I have come to realize the same in my relationship with my husband. He is neither abusive or an alcoholic but I have noticed that he has not be able to love me emotionally as I need. He thinks that physical touch is the way to show me he loves and cares for me but emotionally I am drained.
