He is already along with Thor, Hulk and Sentry one of the 4 most physicaly powerful regular charcters in Marvel comics. When it somes to physical strength their is a precedence to write him to be as strong or stronger in any given situation than anyone else.
He was the only thing that allowed the anti-reg side to fight anything compared to an even fight in Civil war. In one scene he fights Wonderman, Doc Samson, and She Hulk throws them around then is pretty much un opposed as he goes about making Tony run for his life until Clor appears.
