Remember: his series STOPPED at ish 93 since ish 94 never was released due to Marvel's financial status at the time necesitating some cuts to some books. We then briefly see his GR as King of Hell in an issue of the Werewolf series of that time, then in Peter Parker: Spiderman #93 his GR returns to earth as the Spirit of Vengeance and has to merge with him again. He rode off at the end and hasn't been seen since.
GR: Finale that was released when the movie came along was the long lost #94 and showed Dan alive so we know his GR as King of Hell restored his life. Downside though is that I don't think GR:Finale counts as continuity since in it Blaze was reunited with his wife, yet the handbook entries on Blaze states she decided to let him think she is dead so she could move on and Blaze as well
: So, once a Ghost Rider, always a Ghost Rider?

: Finally it shall happen.
: Ghost Rider (John Blaze) vs. Ghost Rider

: Rider: Dan Ketch that updates us on what
: Ketch has been doing over the years and will
: clarify why he is at odds now with John
: My own speculation: way back in the special
: Ghost Rider: Crossroads one shot, Blackheart
: sent Ketch to his realm and cutoff his

: abducted Blaze and took him to a netherrealm
: where Zarathos' essence was imprisoned after
: he was defeated by the Midnight Sons and
: remerged them. He also stated there can be
: only one Rider active however Ketch escaped
: and reclaimed his power and Blaze was
: allegedly restored. We later learn that
: Zarathos was still in him but weakened and
: suppressed by Blackheart's powers until that
: awful Hammerlane miniseries where he
: reawakened and he and Blaze merged mentally
: at the end.
: So IF Blackheart's statement about only one

: true then this could be the reason for their
: However Dan Ketch's series also established
: that HIS Rider/Spirit was also an enemy of
: Zarathos. (Granted this was before Ivan

: So perhaps this battle is the result of
: their old enmity.
: Or else Ketch is trying to save Blaze from

: fact their own version of Ghost Rider so
: this battle has been long coming.
