: Thanks for kicking off the issue comments,
: epicene! It'd be great to get others
: reactions on any or all of it. Was it a
: overwhelming, underwhelming or middle of the
: road this round?
: Also felt it was done 'well enough'. Still
: getting into the Eternals mythos. There was
: enough cultural revelations (new to me) and
: implied impending doom to look forward to
: next issue.
: Preview: Eternals #2
: A scan:
: Cover: Very nice image/moment/context though
: do feel cheated that they didnt even appear
: in the same room this issue, IIRC.
: PrevPage: Excellent AND more clear
: presentation/display/recap of issue 1. Could
: almost substitute for that premiere in some
: respect. Hopefully every Eternal will
: eventually get headshots here.
: Druig: A villain to take seriously.
: Vorozheika (havent memorized that spelling
: yet) should definitely be kept in mind when
: discussing the uniquely MU countries of note
: from now on. Not sure how he can claim to
: generate a MORE powerful Uni-mind - thought
: it was a sum total effect - though not
: fluent on this phenomena yet.
I thought Kirby gave short-shrift to him in the original series. He's the Eternals' Loki to Ikaris' Thor, though the latter is the adopted one, unlike their Asgardian counterparts.
: Legba: Believable to be
: motivated/conned/welcome to Druig's
: Dreaming Celestial: Thought them a little
: taller than a Sentinel but clearly see from
: the horizon that belief is 'a little' off.
: Wow, he's big - should be the focus of many
: a Marvel story while it dwarfs the populace.
: EXTREMELY GOOD to see The Order in action so
: soon after cancellation. Thought it odd that
: their detection methods didnt still work to
: locate Druig even though they were
: 'mind-baked' but good of Tony to note this
: later as a concern. The history of the
: Eternals has been oft repeated in comics but
: it's representation here was
: informative/entertaining/revealing. Presume
: that the Horde and the total population of
: 100 count were most welcome addition to the
: mythos. The one serious nitpick is when it
: used 4 hyphenated synonyms instead of 3 -
: hopefully an oversight/error/glitch (it
: would be neat if they tie in Century of
: Force Works speech into this jargoning).
: Sersi: Well, the good thing is that she
: looks good this time. Her conversation with
: Tony seemed too casual/off/mischaracterized.
: Her comment about Mak being 'All I have' was
: Makkari: Like his character development.
: Ajak: So, he's a troublemaker, eh? Yep.
: Skrull. Gotta be. DC thinks so. 'Course
: this guessing game is so frustrating with no
: chronological referencing to SI or
: Incredible Hercules series. Though SHEEPLE
: was an very good portmanteau word.
I wonder if this is a reference to the Herod Factor when Ajak merged with Dr. Damian to form a monster?
: Joey: Didn't he have a sibling in a previous
Yeah, if Heroes for Hire is to be believed, he either has older twin siblings or is a twin (I can't recall correctly).
: Phastos: Thought it was a real nice detail
: to have him in Germany as opposed to the
He's always been based in the Ruhr Valley since his introduction.
: Thena: Where Sersi looks gorgeous, Thena
: looks impressive. Her shadowed armor looks
: great. Her conversation with Zuras had a
: touch of everyman feel to it.
: Ikaris: If this is supposed to be his
: series, it doesn't feel like it yet. He does
: not come across as that strong a leader from
: his reputation. The English expressions
: seemed odd to hear for some reason; sure,
: they assimilated to USA culture but why
: would they worry about "knocking on the
: door" they could transmute with a
: thought or worry being "on thin
: ice" when they can levitate? And since,
: Olympia is in Antarctica - can not stop
: thinking/hoping/distraction of him teaming
: up with Ka-zar!!
Well, Ikaris did spend a few years on the wrestling circuit trveling around the US. At least, he's not opening up any cans of you know what.
: Gilgamesh: Great ending for an issue. A two
: in one treat. The Forgotten One's return
: with bengals bicep bound and the sight of
: Brazilian babes in bikinis.
