Dear Jan,
I regret I cannot help you,but working together some of us are pretty certain there were 10 Annuals published 1944 to 1953.
1944.Curly Wee and Gussie Goose. Not colourised.(Generic Logo on front).
1945.Curly Wee and Company. Not colourised.(Curly holding hands with Patrick Porker and Martin Mouse).
1946.Curly Wee.Colourised from hereon.(Curly raising his hat to a mouse in pjamas with a ship in the distance).
1947.Curly Wee Again.(Curly shaking hands with a fox).Annoyingly there is a second version with a story missing.(Curly with Martin Mouse on a stage - The word Again is missing on the cover though it is inside).
1948.Curly Wee as the title from hereon.
(The Indian Edition has a picture of Curly mounting a Gangway of a boat)(The British Edition has Curly by the rails of a boat with a hen).
1949.Curly Wee(Generic cover i.e.,CW and GG).Colourised version of 1944 Annual with first story missing.
1950.(Cover is a portrait of Curly Wee).
1951.(Curly on a horse in the Wild West).
1952.(Curly on a Toboggan with five friends).
1953.(Curly and some friends with a Beachball also a Christmas tree in the back).
In 1990 Glendale published the 1949 with the full title in a softback it is a very nice issue. This may have been a response to the series starting again in The Irish Independent.
In addition there were a paper covered editions. The three in Australia had 48 pages of pictures. There ws also a Baron Bun one.
The Liverpool Echo commissioned the series in 1937 after Roland Clibborn(1877-1969) and Maud Budden real name Dora Magdalene Budden ne Fraser (Died 1976) had successfully provided various stories since at least 1931 in the same form.
Clibborn retired in 1967 still providing good drawings.Strip number 10,274(There was no 1200-1999).Clark drew until the series ended on 31st December,1969 (1-748) by which time Maud may have gone to live in Edinburgh.
Central Features of Bristol now owned by The Press Association deal with the syndication.
One person wondered if they would sell a copy of the disc if they have made one to individuals.
A Grandson of Roland said Roland's archive was destroyed by fire.Maud has a son but he has not been contacted yet.
I bought my 8 Annuals for £18 to £88.I notice there has been some viscious bidding for the 1950 Annual one of the most common on E Bay recently. One went for about £140 and another £122.A 1946 for £140.
I hope this is helpful but I do not expect to complete the set for a number of years due to the large increase in interest.
Best Wishes,
Nicholas Morrison
