In my thoughts I would say no dont ever use sand cause it can block the throat area and cause the snake to die if too much got in there plus corn snakes are use to ( in the wild ) sliding across hard surfaces like rocks, BARK, and so on so the sand may be stressful plus it doesnt hold in water at all.
