I just bought my first corn snake a little over a week ago. I have not been able to handle him though, he always strikes even though I am calm and don't move quickly. When I bought him, I noticed how the petsmart associate was not being gentle at all and she even mentioned that she hates snakes. So I am afraid that in the few months that my young salazar was in petsmart's care he must have been very mishandled. I'm wondering whether or not this is irriversible, and how to make him not mistrust me. I know he needs the exercise, and I would like to have a handling relationship with him, so if anyone has any wisdom they can share with me, please do I would very much appreciate it.
