: i have a very young corn snake and everytime i
: try to pick it up it acts like it is going
: to bite at me so i leave it alone even
: though i really think i should be handeling
: it so that it gets used to the feeling of
: being handled what should i do i want to
: give my snake attention but at the same time
: do not want bit. any suggestions?
:
When your snake veeres his head back as if he or she is going to bite you hes just surprised. he will not bite you. he is just curious as to whats happening. think about it, when someone comes behind you and tries to lift you whats the first thing you do, you look to see who it is. just put your hand in the vivarium and lightly stroke its tail to let him know you are there. even if he strikes, most of the time there mouths are closed. if u are bitten it will just feel like a flick, no pain what so ever. hope i could help
