Wow! A multi-gigbyte download. That really would take
an eternity to get over dialup. Ya know, sometime ago I
thought it might make a viable small business providing
a download to CD/DVD of mega-sized files (or many smaller).
It just walks a fine line of charging for free software and
PD media. But it really wouldn't be all that different from
those photo-2-CDR developer services. They have to charge
something for the service.
.
What I'd like to know is, are these Dap files disc images?
Are they read to burn straight to a DVD? Or do they need
further conversion?
.
I'm tempted to say, "hell yes, I'll buy a DVD copy from ya"
(or at least pay for the S&H). But I'd prefer getting DAP DVDs
of episodes I either don't have, or have never seen. Which
is a considerable number of them. Basically anything Rhino
hasn't sold yet, that also wasn't rerun after June 1996.
.
I'm surprised that the DAP project doesn't sell DVDs themselves.
But maybe it's got something to do with copyrights. And those
crumbs of the MPAA know that 99% of us aren't going to be
able to download a 4+ gigabyte file, anyway. I just downloaded
the DAP master list (MST3k) so far. Let, me know how your
DAP DVD turns out.
