I can't believe it. I just heard that they're doing "Welcome
Back Kotter" as a movie! And not a week before that, I
heard that they were filming "Dallas" as a movie too.
Is there Tv show that they won't remake as a movie? Well,
yeah! MST3000 for one. Maybe once they've exhausted all
other 1960s-1990s Tv plots, they'll consider a revisit to
Eden Praire, or something.
.
You can bet they won't remake "Quark". They've yet to
release a DVD set of it. That's how badly they don't want
you to see it again. And I guess no one is allowed to
parody James Bond anymore. So a Get Smart movie is out
of the question. They're probably thinking of doing a Partridge
Family movie soon. And maybe even an Hawaii Five-O movie,
too.
.
They've already resurrected Batman, Spiderman, the Hulk, Captian
America, the X-Men. So where's the Green Hornet movie(s)?
Where's the Flash movie (the Tv series just came out on DVDs)?
Is the next Superman movie going to be a serious treatment,
more so than the last four (no comically Lex aids) were?
H*ll, it wouldn't surprise me if they eventually did
"F Troop" as a movie.
.
There was a movie version of "the Prisoner", already in
production some years back. But what ever happened to it, I
couldn't say. Perhaps it was deemed to irreverent of
"Bush/Chanie's America", after 9-11 happened.
.
Oh, and in case you hadn't noticed.... Although we're getting
plenty of superheroes in movies these days. They've all
completely disappeared from new Tv productions. I think "Jake 2.0"
was the last attempt at one. Although I liked the guy in
"Now & Again" much better. So, I quess the whole financial
situation of Television can no longer support making superhero
series anymore. What's HDTV going to be good for again?
Crime shows, Lawyer shows, American Idol, and Supernanny. Ugh!
