Well I just heard that "The Flying Nun" Tv series was out
on DVDs. And did I hear that a new series might be in the
planning stage?

I have to say, it was never that popular a series with me. I
thought it was a bit ridiculous to turn a nun into a UFO.
The joke of her taking off, being seen, and inspiring someone
to "do the right thing", kind of wore thin. After that she
was just a kind of "Kiki's Delivery Service", I quess.
I've forgotten exactly what uses they put her "gift" to.

If that series rates a DVD set release, can others be very far
behind (perhaps, yes)? What about the series I liked that were
around at that time? Why not a "Ghost and Mrs. Muir" DVD set?
Or "Captain Nice" and "Mr. Terrific"? And is "Flipper" the
sole property of the Animal Planet premium channel? No DVDs.

On the more serious side of Tv, why not the very first season
of "Mission Impossible"? Are they afraid it will out shine the
Cruise monopoly? I might actually kill to get a complete first
season of M.I. on DVDs. And if Cruise's people are holding it
back, that's another reason for me to hate his guts.
The first season of MI was in my opinion, the very best.
Not so much of the gimmicks and gadgets. And a lot more
of the best acting and writing talents. Their first leader
wasn't "Jim Phelps". It was "Dan Briggs". Who was played by
Steven Hill, who you see alot more of on Tv today, than you
do Peter Graves (who took over for him). Back in season one,
they didn't so much knock the bad guys out with drugs, as just
plain knock them out by hand. The few spy toys they did use,
were very cleverly designed. Not just a box of blinking lights.
Most of them worked for real. I'll bet the CIA took notes
of that season.

Right now, the DVD makers don't seem to be very interested in
releasing quality Tv shows from the 60s and 70s. It's been
mostly the sitcom fluff and perhaps some ethnic shows. So I
next expect to see "That Girl", "Family Affair", "The Monkees",
"Julia", "The Mod Squad", "Gidget", "F-Troop", "Green Acres",
"Gomer Pyle USMC", "Bewitched", "The Beverly Hillbillies",
"Peticoat Junction", and "McHale's Navy" out soon. Not that
I want to see any of those, soon.

I'd rather see.... "M.I."(seas1), "The Magician", "Escape",
"Barrier Reef", "Primus", "The Addams Family", "Search" (please!),
"The Wild Wild West" (b&w seasons), "It Takes a Thief", "Quark",
"Logan's Run" (maybe), "Salvage One". And if I'm desperately bored,
"Police Squad", and "The Patty Duke Show". There are probably a
few I've forgotten. I don't keep a list handy.

I knowwww! I'm not very mainstream with these choices. I'll
be lucky to see even one of them come out on DVDs. But I've
been surprised before. So there's always that hope.
