Posted by Crow T. Robot on 5/6/2006, 6:35 pm, in reply to "TSNWSRN does it again!" The Cartoon Network is now showing live action movies and TV shows if they have some vague connection to cartoons. For example they are showing the oh so very popular SAVED BY THE BELL. SBTB originally began airing as a kids sitcom on Saturday mornings, traditionally a time for, you guessed it, CARTOONS. Hence the connection. Meanwhile the stunningly superior JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED is going away. Just sad. --Previous Message--
Apparently, not enough money in serving "geek"dom, so they have to resort to one of the most overshown shows on TV. They aren't the only ones.
: You know, I was almost fooled. TSNWSRN has
: been running the new "Doctor Who"
: series with Christopher Eccleston, and it's
: turned out very well. I was starting to
: think that maybe the network had earned a
: bit of a reprieve.
:
: Not so! Last night, what did they run?
: Episodes of the repeated-to-death "Law
: & Order: SVU". Why? Because the
: eps dealth with serial killers (like most of
: the show does), thus making it vaguely
: horror/thriller related, and thus within the
: network's sphere of programming.
:
: Do you buy any of this? No? I don't
: either. It's more like a bit of shabby and
: crass cross-promotion between TSNWSRN, USA
: Network (which usually runs
: "SVU"), NBC/Universal (the latter
: being the parent of #$@&%$ Grammercy
: Pictures) and God knows who else.
:
: And I've heard that they've also scheduled
: some special wrestling event soon.
: Wrestling? I'm almost afraid to check the
: website to confirm this one.
:
: And I thought they were improving. Silly
: me.
