Yes, they showed the deleted scenes at ConventioCon II. I'm not up to that part, though.
As far as an official release, it might get released if Universal figures there's enough money in it for them to do an expanded release of the movie. And, who knows, BBI might set up something themselves through their new distribution deal with Shout Factory. I understand their planning on some special stuff for the 20th anniversary; this might be a possibility.
