: And, "Scarecrow of Romney Marsh"
: is set for a release in November, from what
: I saw on Amazon.

Ah, thanks! The search at Bestbuy turned up some ambiguous info. It looked like three different versions were slated to be released. But each was 90 minutes long, or longer. So I don't know what the heck Disney is up to. One release of the original 90+ minute Tv movie should be sufficient.
: Oh, and I saw two more upcoming TV releases.
: The good one is the complete series of
: "Quark", the short-lived SF comedy
: with Richard Benjamin. The bad one is the
: complete series of "The Starlost",
: which starred Keir Dullea and is best known
: for being yet another "I got royally
: shafted" situation for series writer
: and (I think) creator Harlan Ellison.

I know about "Quark" and am fairly excited that it's finally getting released. We've had enough of the "Mork & Mindy" DVDs, thank you. "Quark" was a great spoof of Star Trek, and 2001 plot ideas. It came out in the early 1970s, when it was still Ok to joke about Scifi. Then it got series again, for the longest time, until MST3k and Red Dwarf.
BTW, episodes of "The Starlost" can be found on Youtube (usually in 5 parts per episode). They may all be there, I haven't counted them. My notes show 16 episodes were made for that series.
Yes, they were very bad! But that was during the "1st Tv Scifi Drought", IMO. And scifi fans were desperate to watch anything then. Even Space: 1999's 2nd season. I know, there were a few scifish Tv series, like the "Planet of the Apes" and "Six Million Dollar Man". But my point is, nothing futuristic or outer space related. At least a five year drought of US made space operas, after 1969. Only relieved by a few UK syndications.
Anyway, I might just get that Starlost set, if it were sold dirt cheap. But they better not expect to make a huge profit from their sales. Cause it ain't gonna happen. Starlost borrowed their "Dooms" idea from "Silent Running". Only these dooms were apparently many miles across, in size. And MST3k may have borrowed some set building ideas from Starlost. As they both used plastic food trays and other things as wall decor panels. It was fun to recognize things they used. MST3k did a better job of "hiding" them.
The thing about a series made direct to video, like Starlost. It didn't suffer the "red shift" problem of so many other Tv shows made 35 years ago. Thanks to inferior Kodak film stock. So even though it's not real sharp. It's color has stayed closer to what it was.
