A few weeks ago, as part of my library job, I was checking on upcoming DVD releases on Amazon.com. One of the items I found was a box set of all of the Abbott & Costello movies released by Universal. That by itself was good news, particularly since it includes the previously-unavailable "It Ain't Hay". But what made it more interesting was an item I found when checking the contents.
It seems that the included copy of "Who Done It?" (a very funny mystery-comedy set at a radio network) features, as an extra, commentary by "film historian Frank Coniff". Well, I (and reportedly several other people) checked with Satellite News and they checked with Frank. It turns out that, mis-spelling and mis-labeling aside, Frank did indeed record this apparently non-riffing commentary track.
Hmmm... The set costs about $90 and is being released the same day as the new MST3K box set from Shout Factory. I guess I'll just have to pick up both of them. What do you think?
