I can understand your concern, Crow. On the one hand, you can say this is sort of like when they re-did the Gamera flicks from the KTMA season for TFNWSRN. On the other hand, the KTMA's were largely improvised, while SCCTM (I'm a lazy typist) was a fully realized production with a complete writing staff and prep work. It might have something to do with those ever-present and damnably-difficult rights issues.
Actually, from what I've seen, the main question I have is whether that was the TARDIS that appears on stage during the trailer. The riffs shown don't seem to measure up to the original, but it is only a brief clip.
Actually, though, CT isn't the only one to do this. Rifftrax has done two versions of "Plan 9", one with Mike alone (which I just saw on Saturday) and one with Mike, Kevin & Bill. In this case, some (though not all) of the jokes are used in both versions. Apparently, CT has done all-new riffs.
I guess I'll take a wait & see attitude. I wouldn't mind them re-doing a few KTMA's (like "SST-Death Flight", for example) or even, dare I say it, "The Green Slime". Just as long as they don't make a habit of the remakes. Why do it again if it worked great the first time?
Oh, and I don't mind the number thing, Crow. At least the numbers are readable. I've seen stuff like that where nothing is legible.
