: Given that "WALL-E" and "Clone
: Wars" were only just released on DVD,
: it's possible that they've had to wait
: before doing it. Also, they may have been
: so wrapped up with "The Dark
: Knight" that other movies may have been
: delayed.
Yes I suppose that is possible. And it does take time for them to write and sync up a script to a new DVD release. But I see they were already projecting the Dark Knight rifftrak, before the DVD went to market. Not so much as a peep about WALL-E, before or after its DVD release. And I would think that a story about virtually mute robots, would spike their interest about riffing it. It certainly has the breathing room for it. But.... maybe a story with such one dimensional characters as single function robots, is tougher to riff. Even the human characters that are eventually reveled, as pretty one dimensional.
That's kind of why I checked for any Rifftrax of animated features. And I found none. Regardless of whether it was Disney's product or not. So maybe they've decided to leave hands off of them all. For whatever reasons, I don't know. Perhaps because the viewer is too invested in making the animated characters "real" in their head, that they would be more annoyed than entertained by a riff of the story.
: Actually, I have a different question: will
: there be a Rifftrax commentary for
: "Meet Dave"?
:
What? Oh, the movie also know as "Starship Dave". I think they took that idea from MIB(1) and a segment from an old Woody Allen movie (with a long title). Or tiny people inside a bigger "person", idea. Haven't seen a previous Murphy movie being riffed. So I wouldn't hold your breath.
: Nice to have you back, Dex. I was getting
: lonely.
:
Ah, yes. Sorry I've been occupied with other things. And only recently have started renting movies again. The summer's rental choices were pretty bleak. And of course the economy has been a huge blog topic, of late. That, and the significantly colder climate on the east coast (as you know), in spite of global warming (ha!), has had me bracing the homestead for a bad winter.
