If you've wondered where I've been for two months? So do I. Well I discovered that my local library was carrying some Tv series on DVDs, that I was interested in seeing. Particularly one that's only been shown on Cable for the last six years. Until it went into syndication, late last year. That would be the series called "Monk". He's kind of an OCD version of Columbo. And is the exact opposite of Columbo, in every way, accept being able to figure out a homicide with few clues.
Anyway, my library loans these DVD sets free for 7 days. Which is great, as I once considered buying them just to watch them. But I wisely resisted. However, 7 days isn't much time to watch 16 episodes. So I had to watch roughly three episodes a day, for most of the week. Which didn't leave much time for doing a lot of blogging or posting on the internet. And I discovered that the library system had six seasons of Monk.
And so I'd request the next volume, from whatever branch had it, before I was finished with the one I had. I only took a break for one week, to borrow and watch the Scifi miniseries "Tin Man". And now this is my second week off, before requesting the sixth season of Monk. I think season seven is to be the last one for Monk. It's a shame he didn't win the Golden Globe award. Why was "30 Rock" considered better? These Globe voters are too hung up on their own little NYC Tv production world. A bunch of narcissists voted for "30 Rock", I guess.
Anyway, for once my library carried something other than volumes of "The Wire" and "24". I noticed that they recently added some seasons of the new "Battlestar Galactica" series. And of "Stargate Atlantis". So maybe I'll see what this B.G. series is like, without a Cable bill. Ha, Ha! Screw you, Comcast.
I wish I could think of another series I'd want to see several seasons of in a row. And get my library to spring for it. Just so long as it has only 16 episodes or less per season. I think the dramas with 24 "1 hour" episodes (per season) would do me in. That leaves out "24" and "LOST", which they already have. The strange thing about "LOST" is, once I've seen a season, I rarely want to see it ever again. But I get hooked on watching the next new season. It must have a novelty attraction.
