...when you get right down to it, the other two nominees ("Kung Fu Panda" and "Bolt") were pretty much chosen just to fill out the ticket. Pixar pretty much has a lock on "Best Animated Feature" whenever it has competed. I must say, though, that it deserves the recognition. They make some really good movies. Of course, they may have some competition when the next "Wallace & Gromit" movie is done, since Aardman also has a good record at the Oscars.
Still, I'm a bit peeved that "Clone Wars" didn't at least get a nomination. It was a well-made movie that was a hit with fans. I can only figure that its "originally made for TV" roots and the ongoing Academy hassle with George Lucas got it cut from competition.
And that's pretty much all I have to say about this year's Oscars. I didn't watch the show, and I've heard conflicting reports as to its quality. I might watch a video of it, though, provided either RT or CT provided a commentary.
