Oh yes, Wall-E was technically very good. And probably one of the best animations I've seen in a while. But plot wise, it was something of an "2001: A Space Odyssey" rewrite. The escape pod scene should have been a clue. Mostly a visual story. Not until we finally meet the overweight survivors of the human race. Does the film start hitting us over the head with its final message. Get off those damn hover couches and take up gardening! I'm planting tomatoes again this year.
