: And this week's selection is...
:
: "Agent for h.a.r.m." (Show 815)
By my count, MST3K did five spy movies (including "Million Eyes of Su-Maru" back in the KTMA days). And this one is, by my estimation, the worst. Zero budget, drab settings, little or no action, a plot that doesn't make sense, a script that veers all over the place, and an awful ending. And, having grown up watching 1970s TV, I find it hard to accept Peter Mark Richman as a hero (even a dull and failed one), having seen him as a bad guy so many times.
Still, Barbara Bouchet was quite attractive and the music occasionally was good and jazzy. Oh, and there's the pointy credits. Does that make things even? Well, no; the movie still stinks. It would be unwatchable without the fine riffing.
The host segs, though, featuring Mike's trial for planet killing, were great. I think Crow's deposition was one of the funniest bits ever, and I'll have to check with my Mom re: Bobo's cross-examination about pie crust.
Awful movie, but good ep.
