: And, having grown up watching
: 1970s TV, I find it hard to accept Peter
: Mark Richman as a hero (even a dull and
: failed one), having seen him as a bad guy so
: many times.
:
: I remember being a bit stunned when he
: showed up on Star Trek the next generation,
: as one of the three frozen humans from the
: 21th century. And his character was
: argumentative and pushy in that series. I
: really don't think he knows how to play a
: nice guy. They just try and tailor his
: acting style to the plot. Or typecast him
: from the start.
:
: The "nicest" I've ever remember
: his characters being, was on the old B&W
: Outer Limits series. In an episode called
: "The Borderland". That's the one
: were they use a power station to try and
: crossover into another dimension. Maybe into
: a parallel universe. And in another episode
: called "The Probe", two years
: later. I liked that one too.
I recall he did play a good guy in one of the last episodes of "The Twilight Zone", and he did play the father of Chrissy (Suzanne Somers) on "Three's Company", so he did occasionally play a good guy.
On the other hand, it was a kick to see him alongside fellow TV-show vets Lloyd Bochner and Tim O'Connor as villains in "Naked Gun 2 1/2".
Nice to see you back, Dex!
