: Sadly, the Film Crew is no more. Last time I
: checked, their website was gone. And I read
: somewhere (Wikipedia?) that they had been
: put out of business by Jim Mallon himself.
: Jim felt that their production too closely
: matched his old show. And you have to admit,
: it probably did. I suppose if he had been
: let in on their production, he might not
: have objected. But I guess he wasn't, or
: didn't approve, if he was. That he allowed
: them a go at it for a year or so, was
: probably more than most would do. And yet,
: as a fan who just want's to see product. Why
: can't these media types just get along, and
: not fight over things like creative rights,
: etc? It's not like Mallon is planning to do
: any more MST3k in the near future. If
: anything, the Film Crew help keep the spirit
: of it alive. But some "Hollywood"
: types just to see things that way. I didn't
: think Mallon was one of those.
I hadn't heard anything about trouble with Jim over this. So far as I'm aware, the FC just decided to switch to Rifftrax, since it didn't cost as much and gave them a wider range of available product. In any case, so far as I know, Jim hasn't been hassling them or CT over format.
I'd be interested in knowing your source on this, Dex. Maybe I missed something.
