: Yeah Gary was still jumping in the early 80's
: just not on TV that I can remember . Cycle
: Jumping was pretty dead TV wish till Robbie
: started coming on big around 89. Of course
: everything old is new again as they say . Oh
: what I was saying about Domokos was his own
: words from an early 80's Cycle News article
: . I remeber reading. I dont believe Gary
: ever made a LOT of money jumping though sure
: he was comforable . If you saw Gary perform
: he would come in a Ferrari and spin around .
: However it was'nt his .It was Jeff Darlands
: . A guy Gary had doing Wheelie's at his
: Wheelie shows. They had a falling out when
: Jeff wreaked the car. Gary's good people
: though and him and Rex Blackwell were the
: BEST of the sport . It would've been a tight
: jump off between Rob ,Gary and Rex.

: The injuries he received at Caesars is
: actually quite common in motorcycle blunt
: impact crashes including the ruptured Aorta.
: Many men and women have survived it. My
: opinion on fame and fortune after Caesars
: was more about the public's disinterest
: after Evel retired. Even when Evel was at
: his prime he made his money on the toy line
: and not the gate receipts. It's just never
: been a high volume spectator sport. My
: guess is that GW went to where the money was
: at that particular time.

: That free fall jump is impressive. Just adds
: to the mystery as to why he went into
: obscurity after Ceasers Palace when he
: recovered. Had he stayed in the states
: touring his name would be well known by
: people other than hard core cycle jumping
: fans. Don't agree with his bravado statement
: that the Palace crash would have killed a
: lesser man. A higher power saved his life
: that day.

: before. Quite impressive.

: He posted some cool new pictures a few I've
: never seen before.
