: I woke up on Wednesday, 1-13-16 and the
: entire right side of my body and head were
: numb. Just by coincidence I had a Dr.
: appointment on 1-14-16. When I told the Dr.
: my right side was numb from head to toe, he
: started doing tests on me, then he said I
: had to be transported by ambulance to the
: Emergency Room in the big hospital in Little
: Rock. I refused the ambulance and drove
: there. They did various tests, CT, MRI, MRA
: etc. and admitted me. Four neurologists,
: nurses etc. They said I likely had a stroke
: called a Lacunar CVA. Evidently an artery
: was occluded and some small part of my brain
: didn't get blood and oxygen. I can still
: see, hear and speak fine. When I touch the
: right side of my head or body, it feels like
: I'm touching somebody else, like when the
: dentist shoots you up and you touch your lip
: or face. I still have feeling, but it's numb
: too. My right leg feels like it's in ice
: cold water, and numb. They don't know if the
: numbness will go away or not. I also found
: out that I'm diabetic. Blood pressure was
: 171/125, blood sugar in the high 300 range,
: A1C test was 12. Now I have to eat like a
: Californian, except I can eat meat. I'm
: still worn out from the hospital stay,
: tests, shots, blood thinners, very little
: sleep etc. The bed was plastic with a
: gossamer-thin sheet. The room was hot. It
: felt like I was lying on a body bag covered
: with a sheet, then a magician snatched the
: sheet out from under me and I was in the
: body bag, sweating on the plastic. Anyway, I
: hope this numbness goes away. I'm still
: functional and looking forward to better
: health. Thankfully, somebody at work covered
: my shifts, and my wonderful boss is giving
: me time to recover. I was surprised to see
: how much some people care. I didn't realize
: what friends I have. Sometimes you feel like
: the loneliest guy in town, then something
: bad happens and you get a lot more hope and
: strength......
