Randal143,
It's hard to beat a mixture of 32:1..! It is easy to mix that ratio if you don't have a ratio-rite handy. A 32:1 mixture equals 4oz to 1 gallon. I have used 32:1 for 30 plus years and all of our boys (Blake Keeton, Zach & Trace George) 2-stroke needs. We have encountered mechanical failures but none oil related.
With a smaller displacement engine (50cc thru 125cc) turn a higher RPM than most of your 250cc or 500cc 2-stoke bikes do thus running a 32:1 mixture adds an oil "insurance" to your bike.
Keep in mind, your ratios whatever you decide... a 32:1 mixture equals 32 parts gas to 1 part oil. A 40:1 mixture equals 40 parts gas to 1 part oil (more gas, less oil) and a richer fuel mixture due to less oil making the "pre-mix" thinner. You may have to re-jet using a 40:1 mixture.... Could do a whole topic on that... but not now.
Good luck with you choice. Just remember to use a "quality" pre-mix.
