04 ktm 85 killing coils

i have a ktm 85 that i replaced the stator, coil and plug on. the stator was proly a waste of money but the coil was bad on the primary side. after new parts the bike run through about 3 tanks of gas and now the coil is burned up again on the primary side. the bike has correct plug with correct gap. ANY help appreciated.
