I think Heidi's post covered how the "Prologue" was staged...I really liked the way they did "Oh Bless the Lord"...
The had the Jesus call Shoshana (who sang "Oh Bless the Lord") on a cell phone and he delivered the line right before the song (i think it ends with "who will get it now") over the phone to her. She became frightened by this message given to her by the stranger over the phone and throws the phone away, but it slides towards Jesus and he stops it with his foot. She starts the song "Oh bless the lord my soul..." as she sees that her phone stopped and looks up and realizes who it is who was talking to her.
When I performed it in HS, we had choreographed a 60s style dance to the song. The way we did the "Prologue" was also a little different because we had a doubled cast with 19 people.
I hope this has helped you, Good Luck with your show! If you have anymore questions, please feel free to e-mail me or post again here.
Always,
Jenn
