Hey all!
With work and other "things" I've not been on in awhile, and because of our constant WET weather, I've only been able to ride twice since August 23rd!
The first one I rode was Kauboi- Oh yes, I scrambled onto the big guy, and I REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate PEPSI! OMG! That big boy has so much action it was almost to painful for me to ride. The saddle that I was in didn't help things either. He was pretty good, he was a bit up because he was fresh, but he does have a beautiful trot- which if I rode him again- I'd want to trot 100% of the time- because then he is delightfully smooth!
The next day I put some time in on my friends big (what is it with big horses anyways? LOL!) Appendix Quarter gelding. He was fairly well trained by my farrier way back when, and throughout the summer I've been teaching him the fine art of collection and changing of speeds within a gait. My friend REALLY wants me to show him in English, but I think I am to far removed from that part of my life to get back into it.
I have the weekend off (YAY!) so maybe I will click some photo's of me riding the lanky gelding...
Casey has had a tough go of things- first H1N1 followed by a Bacterial Infection then 7 days after the treatment of Augmentin- she now has Bronchitis and another script of Augmentin. Hopefully she responds this time, because the next round of treatment would have to be something along the lines of IV antibiotics & she won't like that.
Tough kid though, she has only missed a total of 7 days and got 3 A's, 3 B's, and 1 D (which we don't care as long as it is not an F.) The teacher is completely useless and unwilling to assist, so she does her best and for me that is enough.
Sigh...I must get motivated, just have to get through the next 24 hours and I am off for 72 hours- been on for 11 24 hour days straight....
