Yes, it is a bit of a worry Lee. It doesn't look to affect the tendon's though...
She is sound. Not lame in the slightest. You can grab the sarcoid & move it & the skin, so it's not attatched to anything underneath the skin by the look of it.
That main sarcoid actually hangs down, it's not attatched to the skin the whole length of it, thankfully. It hangs & wobbles when she walks...POSITIVELY DISGUSTING!!! *shudders*
My hope is that we can shrink it some, then get the remaining cut off...then treat what's left/what re-occurs with the harder, cancer killing chemo type cream....We just can't use it at the moment because of the sheer size of it!!! It's just horrible.
Makes me quite anygry that it has been left so long, to get to this stage.
Fingers crossed. This mare is a total darling. She's had some harsh handling at some point. She a very quiet, good natured mare....but every now & then if you do something, she spooks more than normal. Think she's had it a bit rough.
But she stands for me to spray her leg & apply cream to her chest without any fuss. She's just a sweetheart to be around....Except for the stink. LOL Oh my gosh, that sarcoid is RANK! I like to think I have a very strong stomach. Have dealt with many nasty wounds...but gosh. The smell of this sarcoid is rotten! I am so glad the Debrisol is eating away the pus & yucky bits. It doesn't quite smell so bad now!
Anyway, I will definitely keep you posted
I'm keeping a diary for her, both at home & on a forum I'm on:
