I'm one of the lucky ones who has had the privilege of growing up with an old time cowboy for a grandfather. The term Albino is an old term to describe a pure white horse with light pink skin and dark eyes, sometimes pale blue eyes. The hair having no pigment, unlike cream horses who do have pigment in their hair, very light though it may be. Granted in Grandpas day they didn't know what was the cause of the color and probably got some extreme sabinos or very, very light creams confused in, since they didn't have access to genetic testing as we do now. The horses that are referred to as Albino are dominant white horses which is genetically different from cream and sabino and some other colors that could be confused. The term Albino is just that, a term and some modern day horse people take it to serious. For me Albino is as good as any to describe a pure white horse.
