I am hearing of so many good reports of the EC, not being able to attend, ‘the pull of the year in the UK’ the organising team of the pull can pat themselves on the back for an event second to none, I felt that PC would be the one to take honours but his run of mechanical failures continued to bug the team since his early success in Ahoy.
Well done to DD for pulling off a triumph in the 4.5 mod class, to be honest I thought that it was going to be a complete Dutch benefit and after taking previous results on the continent into account I was thinking that DD had seen its day, so much money had been ploughed into the tractors from abroad, many arriving to pulls this year with two sets of tyres to suit differing track/class conditions but no, Brian and team who should know their way down the Eccleston track did just that. Add to this having to be main organisers of the event as well didn’t take their eye off the ball.
Now to continue with the debate the BEST track is the one that you have just won on, when it all comes together and you guessed the tractor balance correctly, the general rule is the more money you spend the further down the track you go demonstrated by the 2.5 mod and several other classes. Well done everyone for a job well done –where does BRITISH tractor pulling go from here.
