Festivals and Special Programmes Officer
The Irish Film Institute is the national body for the promotion of film culture in Ireland and abroad.
Based in Temple bar, the IFI Film Centre is central to its activities, coordinating a world-class programme of specialist film events and festivals in Dublin and all over Ireland.
IFI also maintains the Irish Film Archive to the highest international standards; it runs a long-established Film Education programme nationwide; and it presents Irish cinema in a cultural context worldwide through ‘Reel Ireland’.
We are seeking a Festivals and Special Programmes Officer.
Reporting to the Director of the Irish Film Institute, this person will work as part of the IFI programme team and contribute to the management, development and programming of the IFI’s busy programme of film culture, both in its Dublin base and with national and international partners.
Working closely with the Director, Cinemas Manager and other IFI programmers, the Festivals and Special Programmes Officer will be responsible for :
• The programming and project management of the IFI’s Festival Programme including the French Festival, Lights Out and Stranger than Fiction festivals.
• Developing and delivery of the IFI’s Special Programmes including curated seasons and special events,
• Developing programming partnerships nationally and internationally in order to tour IFI programmes.
The successful candidate will have:
• Experience of cinema programming and a working knowledge of film distribution, print transport, event management
• Good writing and editing skills.
• An extensive knowledge of contemporary film culture
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work as part of a team.
Languages, French in particular would be an advantage. Salary will be commensurate with experience
