SPLANC!
Underground Films and Odyssey Media are delighted to announce pre-production on the new Splanc! documentary series and feature documentary for TG4.
Splanc! takes an intimate look at film making in Ireland as a visual expression of Irish culture and will celebrate contemporary film makers, in both the Irish and English language. Taking a broad and inclusive view of the art of filmmaking and the evolution of film as an art form in this country, we bring real artistic and cultural value to primetime television audiences.
Over the coming weeks, we will be actively seeking footage and archive contributions from producers to illustrate this story of Irish filmmaking. Producers shooting in Summer and Autumn 2009, who would like their productions be included in this series, can contact us by email.
This is a great opportunity to be involved in a compelling, contemporary exploration of the history of filmmaking in Ireland. Looking at notions of nation, our investigation examines how the Irish have been viewed abroad, and how we represent ourselves on screen.

Tá muid ag súil go mór le cloisteáil uaibh.
Splanc! is produced for TG4, in association with Bord Scannán na hÉireann/The Irish Film Board & An Chomhairle Ealaíon / The Arts Council.
