you are hardly alone. i think many people don't realize that for the last centry or so, many mothers and daughters have used smoking as that special bonding time and guide to becomming a young adult. there had always been thoes against it but at one time the majority of people smoked. times may have changed in this anti-run climate, but there are still many moms and dads out there that realize the curiosity of young girls and guys about smoking is in many cases a part of the growing process.
if parents make it a big deal and give thier kids a bad time about it, they most likely will do it any way and it will cause some seroius communication problems as well as distrust between everyone involved.
on the other side of the coin, i have seen many instances where a parent will make this a special time to bond with thier children. a morning smoke together as they start the day and conversation to as to thier busy scheduals, reviewing the important things that need to be done during the day, maybe some encouragement in a few areas of concern, all tings that otherewise they would not take the time to do if not for a smoke break together. it may not be the best way to do it, but it certainly can work.
smoking is still a wonderful social tool/skill that can be used to great bennifit. i hope more people learn to use it for thoes, if not other reasons to that effect.
you are rite...it is cool, very special, and dare i say, needs to be encouraged more in oour society.
