Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I can. - Unknown

I am glad my company and all the EXTRA heavy-duty goodies are going home with them.
I have done okay but not as well as I had hoped to do. I managed to do well here, but we were invited out to other relative's homes and that was the problem. I could not turn down the food they had prepared because it was a meal made for us out of love. So I ate what they served but tiny portions, and only one relative got offended that I didn't want dessert. I ate one bite and when she left to get coffee refills, I put it on Dad's plate and he ate it.
But I have the feeling I did not lose this week and actually may have gained because of all the sodium. Last night I fixed a big Italian dinner with homemade sourdough bread toasted with real butter on it and roasted garlic. I did have a slice of that and it was better than I remembered.
But all in all I did well. I am not weighing in until next week, after a few days of drinking my water, and eating right. If I find myself at a maintain next Monday, I will know that i probably had a gain today.
Anyway, it was worth it. I have really enjoyed my family here. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to handle eating at other people's houses... I would appreciate it.
